Cabo de Rama (Cape of Rama) is one of Goa's most ancient and strategically positioned forts. Named after the Hindu god Rama, who is said to have lived here during his exile, the fort was subsequently used by the Bijapur Sultans and then captured by the Portuguese in 1763. Its clifftop position gives it commanding views of the Arabian Sea and the coastline stretching towards Agonda in the south.
The fort is now largely in ruins but remains an atmospheric and photogenic destination. Inside the fort complex are a small church, ancient battlements, and cannons pointing out to sea. A steep path leads down to a secluded beach below the cliff.
Our Cabo de Rama taxi service can be booked as a standalone excursion from Palolem, Agonda, or any South Goa beach destination. We recommend combining Cabo de Rama with Agonda Beach and Palolem Beach for a full South Goa day trip.
