Chapora Fort stands dramatically on a rocky headland above the Chapora River. The ruins of the fort, built by the Portuguese and later captured by Bijapur's Adil Shah, overlook the Arabian Sea and the mouth of the river — creating one of the most photographed viewpoints in Goa. The fort requires a climb but rewards with an unforgettable panorama.

Chapora village itself remains relatively uncommercialized compared to Baga or Calangute. The morning fish market at the Chapora jetty is a local experience worth witnessing. Fishing boats return with overnight catches while fresh fish and prawns are sold at the waterfront.
